Tips To Pack Dishes For Moving Purpose
Want to pack your dishes properly so that they
don’t break while in transit. Don’t worry! We can help you with this. Here are
some tips to pack your fragile dishes for moving and storage purpose. You can
follow these steps for most of your dishes:
Generally, there are five primary
steps to follow when you learn how to pack dishes for a move.
Step 1: Buy cardboard boxes from any nearest store. Assemble
each box and tape them properly. You need to keep in mind that your boxes may
get heavy with your stuff. For this, use enough tape so that the box won’t cave
under the weight of your dishes.
Step 2: Fill every box with crumpled up paper to
create a six-inch cushion at the bottom. Make sure that you crumple up the
paper rather than fold it. Crumple paper offers more protection to your dishes.
Step 3: Layout your packing paper on a flat surface
and place the dish in the middle of packing paper. Wrap the dish according to
its specific needs, secure the paper with tape, and place the dish in the box.
Step 4: Keep packed dishes in the box until the box
is full. Use soft fabric or extra paper balls to fill in the empty spaces. To
pack your dishes in the right order, make sure that you start packing heaviest
items first and then pack light items such as glasses and bowls, etc. at the
top of heavy items
.
Step 5: Once you wrap and pack your dishes, top the
box with balled up paper for added protection, just as you did with the bottom
of the box. Close it up, tape it, and label the box.
Tip: Don’t pack the dish boxes too heavy. It’s easy
to do, so be conscious of how much you’re loading into each box and try to keep
each one under 45 pounds.
